A New Look is Here and More Change is on the Horizon!

New Look

Hello loyal readers! As you have already seen, we’ve totally re-worked the look and feel of Twenty Years Hence. We’re pretty excited about this, and hope you like it as well. Our goal was to make our site more readable, to separate the wheat from the chaff, so to speak, and make it easier for you to get to what you’re here for: the content.

With two photographers in the family, we also wanted to make sure our photography took a more prominent place in the layout, so you’ll notice that our photos are more integrated into the text and are larger, and our header now features a stable of our favorite shots from our travels to date.

As with any labor of love, this site is always a work in progress. If you see anything that seems broken, or doesn’t work the way you think it should, let us know! Also, to our iPad users (all three of you ;) ) this site doesn’t display 100% correctly on our iPad 1, maybe it’s better on the later models, but I don’t want to buy one to find out, so be patient, I’m plugging away on a solution as we speak.

New Features

In addition to a new look, we’ll also be rolling out some new content in the months to come. As we have been traveling we’ve found some great inspiration and we want to share it with our readers, so keep your eyes on this site in the next few weeks for more announcements!

About Tony

As a designer by trade and a former professional photographer, there isn't much in the world of visual communication that I haven't worked on. From web projects, to museum interiors, to weddings and portraits, my career to this point has run the gamut of visual media. Born and raised in a sleepy town in southeast Minnesota, I moved to Nashville to pursue my education. I ended up meeting the love of my life and adopting the two best dogs this side of the Mason-Dixon line. I love two-wheeled transport, trying new food and am a bit of a gadget freak. I love a good book, and have music playing almost constantly. After over a decade in the same city, I'm quickly getting used to the idea of having no fixed address, and hope all of you enjoy my ramblings about our ramblings.

Thanks so much. One of these days we’ll get to Singapore, I promise. We move at a glacial pace, it’s true, but the wait makes it all the sweeter, no? Yes?

I love the new look! It’s simple and very intuitive, and I love the pictures in the banner. I liked the old one, but this one look even better! :)

I feel like the bearer of bad news here, but I have encountered a couple of problems though; it might be only my computer, I tried it both on Chrome and Firefox, but I thought I would mention it anyway, just in case. The first is the galleries, which I can’t see. I have clicked both on the title and the thumbnail of a few destinations, but it only brings me to an empty page where I can leave comments. The second is your Japan Destination page : the article’s text gets cut on the right. I can provide a screenshot if that helps!

Anyway, I love the new look. I can’t wait to see what new things you have to share with us! <3

Thanks so much for your feedback and taking the time to look our site over! We’ve actually killed the galleries for now, the old system we were using stunk and I’m trying to find a way to make them better, so none for now. The destinations pages suffered the same fate I’m afraid, for now at least. Again, thanks so much for your help!

One of your iPad users here! Looks pretty good on my latest-version iPad, I didn’t check every page or anything but looks nice to me!

I’m amazed you’ve got the time to update your blog whilst travelling – even stuck at home I haven’t managed to do any major updating for a while. I look forward to seeing the new features. I love how inspiring travelling is!

I know! Having the blog gives us something to do, which is good and bad, but I know we’ll be glad to have it and if it helps anyone along the way then we’re happy!

Terrific redesign guys! The new design is just perfect for the many great pictures the two of you take whilst you’re on the go & I love the rotating header image, it gives every new refresh a new focus and I love it.

I can’t wait to see everything else that’s on the horizon.

    Love the new look…
    Just one thing:

In my the comment boxes, both the email and name slot add the words “Name” and “Email” which caused me to have to enter my info again…

    For example, my boxes say:

    Vee *Name
    readingdeliberately@gmail.com *Email.
