Were it not for these Chewing the Fat interviews, I’d probably never know what day of the week it is anymore. Instead, to brighten your Friday and send you off into what will hopefully be a delicious weekend, we’re sitting down with Talon Windwalker, the man behind the fantastic family travel blog, 1 Dad, 1 Kid as well as a new food-centric travel blog, Travels 4 Yum.

After an unexpected hiatus (what can we say—internet access (along with several other things) has been pretty rough here in Indonesia) we’re back with a super-sized edition of Chewing the Fat. If you’ve read through our posts on Taiwan, you probably guessed it was only a matter of time before we featured two of our very favorite bloggers on the planet in this space and finally that time has come. Today I am so happy to share with you our interview with the amazingly kind and adorably kooky Dale Davies and Franca Calabretta of AngloItalian Follow Us!

It’s another installment of Chewing the Fat, and this week we’re lucky to have snagged some table time with the power blogging couple behind Hecktic Travels! Dalene and Pete Heck have been traveling all over the world non-stop since 2009. They gave up their corporate lifestyle in exchange for a couple of backpacks and have visited over 30 countries together.

It’s another installment of Chewing the Fat, and this week we’re so happy to be doing so with the delightful Sarah of Sarah Somewhere! Sarah was a flight attendant for a major Australian airline for eleven years before deciding to quit her job and travel the world with no plan, agenda or foreseeable end date. She and her partner Tyrhone sold everything they owned, including their home, to travel and create a simple, fulfilling life of creativity and adventure. They write about the journey at Sarah Somewhere and Tell Them I Said Something. After a year of travel through South East Asia, China and India, they are currently based on the Caribbean coast of Mexico, swimming, writing, creating and of course… eating.

This week on Chewing the Fat, I am utterly elated to welcome the lovely lady behind Battered Suitcases, Jill Cox! Jill is a twenty-something primary school teacher who worked for several years in the Middle East before taking a year to simply enjoy life and travel through Australia. After a year of camping, koala-spotting, and some fairly epic roadtrips, Jill recently returned home to the America’s Pacific North West. Throughout her travels, she has also developed quite the fondness for novelty snacks.

This week on Chewing the Fat, we are so excited to welcome one of our favorite travel writers: Kim of So Many Places. While our own travel blog was still just a glimmer in the milk man’s eye, we followed Kim & her husband Brian on their journey as they saved towards their dream of traveling the world, inspired not only by their journey and commitment, but also by Kim’s passion to discover and hone her writer’s voice. While we certainly read widely in the travel blogosphere when it came to planning our own trip and fueling our dreams, So Many Places is surely one of the sites that pushed us towards documenting our journey on a site of our own.

This week we are delighted to welcome the truly dynamic and overall awesome Rika from Cubicle Throwdown to Chewing the Fat. Rika is a fellow Canuck, although the fact that she’s not from Toronto technically means that she & I should be sworn enemies. Still, even with these biases I can’t deny that Rika is one heckuva gal who takes the notion of following your dreams to a whole new level.

This week we welcome a truly groovy couple to Chewing the Fat: Nick & Angela are a Dutch couple traveling around the world, looking for inspiration, awesome places, ideas, cultures and food. Together they run Sparrow in Space, a young web design & development bureau, as well as a really gorgeous travel blog.

This week we are so happy to welcome one of our favorite travelers to Chewing the Fat, the lovely and talented Expat Edna! Edna is a serial expat currently based in Paris. She first moved abroad at 18 and left the US for good after graduating college, spending three years working in media and journalism in China and Singapore. Now in her fifth year abroad, she moves around the world covering international sports events and can be found writing about her travels and life in Paris at Expat Edna.

This week we welcome the wonderful couple behind World Flavor to Chewing the Fat! While in Koh Lanta, Thailand (we know, we know… the blog is horribly behind!), we actually had a chance run-in with these two when they spotted us scoping out snacks in the local 7-11! We shared a great meal with them later that evening and a foodie friendship was born!

This week we are extremely excited to be Chewing the Fat with a truly inspiring couple, the lovely duo behind Never Ending Voyage!

Erin McNeaney and Simon Fairbairn are a digital nomad couple who sold everything they owned and left the UK in March 2010 to travel the world forever. They write about their slow travels around the world, the tastiest vegetarian eats, and the ups and downs of life as digital nomads at Never Ending Voyage, and create iOS apps that make your travels easier at VoyageTravelApps.com.

In this installment, Erin & Simon hold nothing back as they reveal their best tips on how to get the most culinary bang for your buck when traveling, what’s currently in their fridge, what they really think about tofu, and so much more!

We’ll be featuring a new interview every two weeks from people who have as much to say about food as we do, and we are certain it’s going to be a very interesting series! To give you a taste of things to come, we’ve interviewed ourselves first. We’ll kick off the rest of the series in two weeks with a fresh interview from someone new, so stay tuned!
